 This year, we're diving deeper into the issue of hunger by bringing you stories of how powerful food is and how YOU can unleash that power in children's lives.

The power of food is evident in the work our distribution partners do all over the world.

We donate meals to an exceptional network of missions and humanitarian organizations who work hard to get life-saving nutrition into the hands and tummies of those who need it most. By God’s grace, more than 99 percent of FMSC meals have safely reached their intended destination.

Our partners are real heroes. Every day they distribute FMSC food in schools, orphanages, medical clinics and feeding programs in 70 countries around the world to break the cycle of poverty.

Today, we are bringing you a story from a partnership in Nicaragua called ORPHANetwork. This organization rescues abandoned and abused children, prevents vulnerable children from becoming abandoned and raises every child up to new life, all while sharing Christ's love. 

The Power of Partnerships

At 12 years old, Anielka could not go to school. Her family didn’t have the resources to send her, and she was suffering from undernourishment.

ORPHANetwork launched Local Church Initiative in 2015 to empower local leaders to reach the community for Christ using holistic tools.

It was through this program, led by a pastor in a remote, mountainous region of Nicaragua, that Anielka’s life began to change.

Not only is she growing healthy and strong from eating MannaPack™ meals, her family is able to send her to school with the money they’ve saved on daily lunches.

"This young lady is morally, emotionally and spiritually growing in the Lord,” the pastor said. “Her family joined the church and they are all active members."

Partnerships like ORPHANetwork in Nicaragua are so valuable to FMSC.

The program Anielka attends serves 80 vulnerable children, and that is just ONE of ORPHANetwork’s programs throughout Nicaragua.
