Haiti. So much of what we know about this Caribbean island deals in facts and figures: number of malnourished kids and natural disasters, body count.

It may sound oversimplified to say this, but Haiti is so much more than all of this.

Haiti is people -- people just like you and me.

Strength and courage are woven into the very fabric of this island, the first post-colonial black-led nation in the world.

So today, we are going to introduce you to Haiti in a different way -- through faces, through eyes.
