Stories of Feeding God's Children Hungry in Body & Spirit
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." — Isaiah 41:10
Lauza. She’s the first person I thought of when COVID-19 struck. I could just picture her bright eyes and her shy smile.
You may remember Lauza, a child in Uganda who you helped bring back to life. What happens to her when this virus wreaks havoc on already fragile communities around the world?
What happens when the effects of COVID-19 double the number of people on the brink of starvation to 265 million?
That’s a number I can’t wrap my head around. So, I think about Lauza. And Moses. And Nelson.
Simply put, this virus will have a lasting effect on people – children – suffering from hunger for years to come.
The World Food Programme is bracing for multiple famines of biblical proportions that could result in 300,000 deaths per day. This is truly a hunger pandemic.
Who is your Lauza – the child that comes to mind when you think about 265 million people on the brink of starvation?
I am personally asking you to take a moment to help them. I promise it will be the most important thing you do today.
As this crisis evolves into a hunger pandemic, we need you more than ever to be able to meet the needs of children around the world. Will you step out in faith with us? Every little bit matters to a child in need.
