Stories of Feeding God's Children Hungry in Body & Spirit
“You don’t know what this rice means to us. It is usually our main meal for the day.” — Estela, grandmother of 7
When her daughter died, there was only one place for Estela’s grandchildren to go. At 68, Estela found herself the sole caregiver of seven small children. Her already-thin resources would need to stretch impossibly far just to keep the family alive.
Estela and her grandchildren live in Zambia — one of hungriest countries in the world. Nearly half of Zambia’s population does not know where they will find their next meal.
Globally, hunger kills one person every four seconds. In the three minutes it takes you to read this blog post, an estimated 45 people will die because they didn’t have enough to eat.
That sounds harsh — and it is. But there is so much more to the story.
Estela receives reliable, nutritionally dense MannaPack® meals from FMSC food distribution partner World Help.
Because of generous donors she may never meet, Estela knows that her family will eat tomorrow — and the next day and the days after that.
The world is in the biggest hunger crisis of our lifetime.
There’s no question that we’re facing an unprecedented challenge in global hunger. But it is also an invitation to step into the work that God is already doing around the world — work He’s doing through people like you.
Will you give today to provide meals for courageous grandmothers like Estela?
