Stories of Feeding God's Children Hungry in Body & Spirit
FMSC CEO Mark Crea was traveling around South Sudan with FMSC partner ForAfrika when he met Rebecca. She was a local mother at a community food distribution – and she was holding an empty soup can.
Rebecca told Mark that if she works a full day — and if that day goes really well — she can make enough money to buy rice from the market to fill that single tin can. And that’s it — that’s her family’s food for day. On a good day.
But when Rebecca left that day, she — like many other mothers — carried home a full box of MannaPack® meals to provide for her family. Each one of those meals is your generosity in action.
Hope is greater. Hope is growing. Hope is here.
South Sudan is weathering a perfect storm for hunger. Flooding, famine and economic freefall. Families like Rebecca’s sit at the brink of starvation.
Through it all, here’s what we know: Hope is greater than hunger. Hope is growing. And hope is here — right in the communities where FMSC partners work every day.
In the Horn of Africa — where more than 7 million children under five years old are malnourished after one of the worst droughts in 40 years.
In Haiti — where violence and unrest makes it nearly impossible to transport food in and around the country. Nearly impossible — but, by God’s grace, our partners still get it done.
In Ukraine — where crossing borders to deliver food means saying goodbye to your family with no assurance you’ll return.
In Myanmar — where hostility has forced so many organizations to leave, but our partners still deliver food right where it’s needed most.
The meals you donate are changing lives in the hungriest places on Earth.
