New Hope for Haiti
Stories of Feeding God's Children Hungry in Body & Spirit
More stories of hope
You may remember New Hope Church in Virginia from our record-breaking MobilePack event this past spring. The church was integral in putting on the event that brought together thousands of volunteers in one weekend to pack more than 5 million meals.
They normally host an event in November, but decided not to this year as it was so close to having packed 5 million meals.
Well, they heard the news from Haiti after Hurricane Matthew hit last month and were moved to action.
With less than a month to plan, they put together and held an event last weekend that will feed 1,491 kids in Haiti for an entire year!
Here’s an update from them:
Two thousand volunteers helped fund and pack 544,536 over the 10 packing sessions this past weekend. You exceeded the goal of 500,000!
This means 1,491 kids will have a meal a day for an entire year! All three containers were picked up Sunday night and we've heard one is on its way to the port already.
Be praying for the transport of these meals, our partners who are receiving them on the ground, and for the children who will be given hope from these meals. Thanks for being the hands and feet of Jesus!
Thank YOU, New Hope Church, for mobilizing the hands and feet of Jesus.
