Through FMSC MobilePack™ events, you can engage in an impactful meal-packing experience just about anywhere. It was during one of these events in 2008 that Mary Jane Journey got involved. Now, she has been hosting her The Big Pack Frisco, her own MobilePack event, for over 10 years.

“We fell in love with the process of it and what we could accomplish in a short two-hour period. How many kids we fed was amazing,” Mary Jane said.

At first, she got her church to begin hosting their own MobilePack events. Inspired by the potential to do more, she and her husband decided to expand their reach. They aimed to gather 4,000 volunteers, reaching out to businesses and schools inviting those in need of service hours to join this transformative journey.

In 2017, Mary Jane hosted a MobilePack event where she personally filled 15 boxes at the end to make sure the pallet they were shipping was completely full. Six weeks later, she went to Haiti. While there she found one of the boxes marked with her very own handwriting had made it to the compound she was visiting. Witnessing this box in action — feeding those in need — was a profound highlight of her trip. It was a testament to the impact of her efforts and the lives she could change through these events with FMSC.

Reflecting on her MobilePack journey, Mary Jane said, "I love what we do. It’s awesome to see God work." This mission not only changes the lives of those FMSC serves but also has a great impact on the ones who pack the meals, the volunteers.

When asked what she would tell someone interested in hosting their own MobilePack event, she says, “Go for it! It will change your life. It is such an honor and a privilege to be able to do a MobilePack that touches people’s lives, here in the states [as volunteers] and around the world.”
